Tara L. Maczuzak

Tara L. Maczuzak, a shareholder, is a graduate of the Eberly College of Arts & Sciences at West Virginia University, where she earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in English. She also attended James Madison University, where she worked in the James Madison University Community Service-Learning office aiding in organizing community service opportunities for student volunteers. Tara earned a Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law in 2000. While in law school, Tara received awards for outstanding performance in individual classes, including the Cali Award for Excellence in Taxation of Partners and Partnerships. Tara was also a summer law clerk for Westmoreland County Judge Debra A. Pezze during law school.

Tara’s practice focuses on litigation in the areas of complex insurance coverage and litigation, extra-contractual insurance litigation, motor vehicle and premises liability, commercial litigation, personal injury, and mediation. She joined DiBella, Geer, McAllister & Best, P.C. in March of 2002 and, since that time, has tried numerous arbitrations, bench, and jury trials to verdict in various counties of Pennsylvania. She has also argued several successful appeals in front of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. In December 2008, Tara received recognition from the Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority for her work with the IFPA in its ongoing attempts to combat insurance fraud in Pennsylvania. Tara became a certified mediator, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.

Tara is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, including the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Allegheny County Bar Association.
